Having bought a MK2 S off him, I would say avoid at all costs, description didnt meet with reality. His "large Box of bits" will in fact contain a large pile of utter junk, not a truthful person to deal with in my opinion and experience. I certainly wouldnt deal with him again.

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Chassis number is in the correct place for a MK2. Looks to be on a G plate so it should have the rubber heater/chaoke controls and the wipers should park on the LHS. The arms look to be RHS park, difficult to tell from the picture. Servo is missing but the holes appear to be there and the control box is in the correct spot. Commision number is there in the right spot for that year as well.floormanager wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 9:11 pmTo state the bleedin obvious, there's no servo and the chassis number is in the wrong place. Sure others will be able to spot more than me.Andrew1967 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2020 8:59 pm Anyone know anything about this one ? A mate of mine might be interested if it is a genuine S.

Missing the heater inlet ducting which can be a little tricky to replace.
Has a MK3 heated rear screen, the MK2 ones were laminated into the glass like the front ones.
Front seats have been re-trimmed.
Oil cooler appears to be missing, the pipes can be hard to get if you want original ones.
Still Hydrolastic which puts it up in my opinion.
At that point it should have black carpets (only the earliest had anything other than black).
It sits on reverse rims without arches which could lead to the odd pull by the rozzers. Personal choice I would say.
Toward top money for a MK2 S but if the paperwork checks out, the engine/transmission is not toast and the body is not a filler minefield it presents in the pictures as a reasonable car.
A bit of TLC cleaning off paint overspray and painting the dynamo pulley/fan black (Why paint them yellow????) and a good clean inside the engine bay and car would not go amiss.
It would be worth a visit definitely.

One owner Mk2 Auto, I know some would frown at the thought since Mk2s are rare enough as it is, but it would make a great project for someone to turn into a manual if you're not bothered about cost vs value etc....

GT has 'Never had a panel changed' yet seems to be missing a servo and has no signs of the holes on top of the inner wing to mount one?WMU 211G wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:42 pm Low mileage '74 1275GT....

It is a very nice car though!
Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Commission number suggests that this car was originally fitted with 8.4" brakes, so no servo would have been fitted. 8.4" brakes and servo deletion was at Com No. S20D 19416GraemeC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:54 pmGT has 'Never had a panel changed' yet seems to be missing a servo and has no signs of the holes on top of the inner wing to mount one?WMU 211G wrote: ↑Mon Aug 10, 2020 12:42 pm Low mileage '74 1275GT....

It's one of those transitional GTs that has features of the early (vinyl seats) and later (12" wheels and larger brakes) cars.
Looking at RWs web site it looks as though it has already sold.

The number on the block and the 333 case looks very iffy to me
Block is 998 with a very creative AEG 312 added

Re: WTH??!?! Have you seen this item on ebay.
Wow, that's a new one on me.
Is there any way that could be a 312 block or would the 998 crank simply not fit due to main bearing journal size differences?

The same goes for the 333, the embossing looks a little bulbous.
