...who were an Austin dealer but distributors for Morris/Riley/Wolseley/MG. Peppers had a separate Morris dealership. Beautiful building and a lesson in preservation.

Re: old garages
Top thread idea!
How long before forum members go on group runs to populate the forecourts in period style?
2 nice old garages in Edinburgh are now wine merchants, one of which seems very nicely preserved, down to retaining the origional 'Garage' lettering on the facade. Of course, it would make a great classic dealership
will try to take some snaps next time I'm passing.

Re: old garages
Not very pretty, & a rubbish picture, but this is where I work now, when it was a garage back in the 1950's.

Re: old garages
Slightly off-topic, but this is Daniel Richmond's old house (The Homestead) also off Google Earth. Stunning...

Re: old garages
Here's a photo one of the last Minis to come out of a BMC/Rover dealership in probably one of the oldest buildings. This was Follets on Berkeley Street in London's Mayfair, formerly Mann Egerton who in the 60's were retail dealers for Austin/Morris/Wolseley and Riley. It's now Stratsones who sell Land Rovers to London WAGS !

Re: old garages
My Traveller was originally bought in a country garage in Co Tyrone - Donnelly's of Caledon. They moved many years ago to a much larger premises in the nearby town of Dungannon.
This is how it now looks (incidentially if any NI members happen to have any BMC dealer stickers from Donnelly's of Caledon, I would love to get a copy of it!!)

Great picture of one of the last Mini's in London (the perfect car for London streets), you'd think they would have made the step a bit lower to get the cars out of the showroom though!!!

Re: old garages
My Traveller was sold through Derbyshire motors in Derwent Street, Derby. I believe this is the building today, but I'd love to see a picture of it in the period.
