Throttle Cable Color
In Parnell’s book, page 63 (MK II) he indicates the throttle cable should be black.
The picture shows a yellow cable.
My ‘66 S MK I (July 1966) also has a yellow cable.
Does anyone have any info re: the throttle cable color over time?

Re: Throttle Cable Color
I spoke to Mr Parnell at last years Spring Autojumble & asked when his update book will come out the reply was he needs a last section to complete the Book .. his problem is what is "new" to write up about Minis that has not already been published.
I would suggest the OE Cables were Black but then what do i know & Just to add some confusion to this topic .. i used nos competition part numbered Leyland Parts Throttle Cables on my cars and those throttle Cables are a sort of Surf Blueish in Colour.

Re: Throttle Cable Color
Alexander produced a low resistance (???) throttle cable in yellow and many BMC dealers stocked them. On recommendation of the parts man, we always used them with no issues. Think I have a spare in its pack here somewhere, will take a pic if I find it

Re: Throttle Cable Color
Either way, I think, those yellow cables have been around or a very long time, is the yellow anything to do with a material property, I wonder.. ?

Re: Throttle Cable Color
I used to sell a white cable. This was just a white nylon tube with ferrules at each end. This stopped the sticking completely. Can't remember if it was a BMC or 3rd party one.

Re: Throttle Cable Color
That might have been made by B-G. I've got a nos one still in
the original packaging and the white nylon/plastic is broken in 10 places.
I think it's petrified.

Re: Throttle Cable Color
Speedwell were Black, Yellow or Grey. Just depended on what cable they bought in at any given time.
