The rear windows on my 63 don’t shut snug, they sit against the rubbers ok and don’t leak but something is not right . Could it be an issue with the rubbers being too thick, these had been replace a few years before I bought the car . Any
recommendations on a source for correct profile rubbers please .

Re: Rear Qtr light fit
There have been several threads on the subject of quarter light seals from different suppliers, worth a search on here first. I went through several and ended up with the Minispares offering. That doesn't mean to say what they supply today is the same though. The tapered lip that sits on the window ledge is often too thick and prevents the window from drawing in tight. That said, yours don't look that bad, similar to mine. I have tried putting card spacers between the catch and C post to try to draw them in tighter but with little success. When closing the window, it does pull in tight however once the latch goes over centre to the fully closed position the window pops out a little as the preload is reduced. Even if I push hard on the outside the window won't sit flush, so the seals are still a bit of an issue. I'm considering reverting to Mk3 seals as they are more compliant and may allow the window to pull in tighter. What it needs is a fatter hollow seal that provides full contact with the frame but allows it to close in tight. The solid seals don't allow this to happen. Looking at original seals doesn't really help as they have been compressed for many years so don't have the same form they had when new.
