Hi All
After a bit of technical assistance!
Lightweight Minispares flywheel and pressure plate with an orange diaphragm.
Set up the straps as per instructions (only one washer needed).
Offering up the diaphragm there’s more of a gap than on the old set-up with a standard diaphragm.
Does this need any shimming, or is it this how it is with the orange type?
Pictures of new and old. Probably about twice the gap between the strap and the diaphragm on the new.
Your expert thoughts please??
Many thanks in advance.

Re: Flywheel / Clutch set-up
Photos can be deceptive but I’m surprised how small the gap was on your original setup, how worn was the friction plate?
In theory when bolted together the spring part of the diaphragm (the steel sprung ring bit) should be compressed so it’s flat. So if you look at how deep a cone it is when uncompressed you can imagine what the size of the gap should be which I’d suggest is what you’ve got.

Re: Flywheel / Clutch set-up
Thanks for that.
The old one had only done about 7,500 miles, but that was 30 years ago!
So I would reckon when it’s torqued up that it would be about right.
Here’s a photo of it “finger tight” in situ.

Re: Flywheel / Clutch set-up
When you do it up the pressure plate, straps and diaphragm will all be clamped tightly together, so do each of the three bolts gradually so it compresses the spring evenly
