Probably a very obvious answer here but should I be ordering a 30" / 26" length cable?
thanks.

Re: which speedo cable?
Looking forward to the answers on this.
The cable on my ‘65 Elf is very tight, it literally straight lines between the gearbox & were it goes through the bulkhead, there is no slack to make connecting the speedo easy.

Re: which speedo cable?
Any mini with the round or oval centre mounted speedo the length is 26"
On an Elf you will need 30" as the speedo is set to line up with the face of the wooden dash board which is further away from the firewall.

Re: which speedo cable?
Thanks for the confirmation.
Is there any reason I could install a 30" cable instead of a 26" (as I have this already?) or is there a good reason not to?
thanks

Re: which speedo cable?
Moss Motors sells a right angle adapter, originally for early 70's MGBs, P/N 433-745 that fits on the speedo. It allows the speedo cable to be routed along the firewall/bulkhead to easily avoid the carb/air filter assembly. I've installed one on my car 8 years ago, works great. Haven't had to change a speedo cable since.
