Re: 1960 / 70's Mini Racing Photos
I have been looking for a photo that I was sure was posted in this thread and others, but I cannot find it. It is of the Thistle mini estate leading a group of cars at Caravan corner at Ingliston in 1969. I am actually looking for the race number of the Thistle mini. thanks in advance for any information.

Re: 1960 / 70's Mini Racing Photos
I posted a few of the Thistle Minis and Landar at Ingliston a wee while back. I don't think th estate was in that batch (which were copied over from the Ingliston facebook page) I think I know the photo you mean though, I'll have a look and see if I have a copy stored.

Re: 1960 / 70's Mini Racing Photos
They were over on the 10/10th forum. Photobucket watermarked.
Interestingly, the old garage is still there, and largely unchanged, just off the roundabout at Musselburgh race course.

Apparently Bill is in the process of relocating from Ashford, Kent over to the Isle of Wight:-

Re: 1960 / 70's Mini Racing Photos
I found this whilst I got lost in old racing photos from Austrian motorsports photographer Artur Fenzlau.
I found many, many more photos of mainly Austrian racing Minis, but some of famous British racers as well - I'soon let you know and show.
Just have to finish searching the other 5-thousand photos So hold your breath...

Re: 1960 / 70's Mini Racing Photos
After filtering the first few thousand photos for Minis - this is batch one and two. With Paddy Hopkirk in Austin Cooper S EER964 probably the No1-find in this batch.
Pictures of Aspern 1966:
https://www.flickr.com/gp/marc_minikin/Z1Zw71
Rally pictures of Minis from 1961 to 1972
https://www.flickr.com/gp/marc_minikin/yZGG9F
BTW: Who is the driver of HJP656D? Any clues?
I am yet not even half way through the database. The search for Minis is manual work, looking at thousands of tiny stamp-sized previews trying to identify Minis in pictures.
I hope you can access the photos in the links and appreciate these pics, most of them probably completely unknown and unseen in the Mini scene.
Many pics are of Austrian teams (with UK-registrations - WHY ) some teams from abroad including the likes of Hopkirk, etc.
Outlook: more from Poole, Handly and Rhodes and many locals to come once I find the time. Consider this as my contribution to this great forum
Cheers
Marcus
