SU thread ?
Would anyone know what the thread is in the top of the dashpot on a 11/4 SU carb that the damper rod screws into please ?

According to information in the thread linked below the dashpot is threaded 11/16" x 24

As a matter of intyerest, why are you re tapping the thread in the top of an SU?
I did it once as i needed to reduce the height of a carb by about 1/4" I achieved this by chopping the top off the dash pot & retapping it. It worked fine.

Thats exactly what I'm doing ,reducing the height . Built a Cannon trials car chassis with twin HS2 s on a MG 1100 manifold and then decided to use a pair of H1 s on a Frogeye manifold and the bonnet won't fit now .Trying to keep gas speeds up as its only a 948cc engine due to the regulations .
