Door cards help
Has anyone got any pics inside the front pockets so i can see how the door cards fit. Do they go in front of the drain pipes or behind? Any other advise on fitting would be welcome as i am struggling. They are Newtons. How do the pocket liners fit in?
Thanks Steve
Thanks Steve

Re: Door cards help
I klnow they are not easy but i've measured them against the original ones and they are spot on but still a pain to fit. I damaged the originals getting them out but its been over a year since i removed them so i've forgot how they were fitted. Does the bottom go in front or behind the drain tubes? I have some black plastic liners in the kit which i presume are for the front pockets but haven't got a cvlue how to fold them or fit them? Any pics inside the front pockets would be great. Regards Steve

Re: Door cards help
Nice to dispell that particular myth, had no issues with mine either. Some just expect 'em to just slot in like putting on an old pair of slippers which they won't cos they're brand new and hence not particularly flexible !Steve A wrote:I klnow they are not easy but i've measured them against the original ones and they are spot on
In answer to your question.. no they don't fit behind the tubes, they go in front. Once slotted (right down) to the bottom they should flex just enough to pop in at the top with some force. I've even folded 'em in at the top (ie bend the middle out) before now but does take some nerve (and several wheatabix for brekky !) with new panels ! The black bottom sections are fairly self explanatory, go in last with a push and should only go in one way (ie have a front and back). Make sure you fold the back of the door fillets behind the tubes or they'll just keep falling out. The factory glued 'em to the door panels didn't they ?
Good luck.

Re: Door cards help
if they used the correct thickness millboard and not as much padding they would be very good,as the color and grain is now much much better!!

Re: Door cards help
Hi all,
I have attempted the door cards this evening, not to jinks it but went pretty smoothly (even with some additional felt behind and the help of some vasoline) The question Is, the rear fillet, I think fits well and is correctly sited, the front however seems to be fighting the drain tube at the top thus not sitting correctly and more importantly, not sitting perpendicular to the horizontal flutes on the door card.
Any guidance gratefully accepted

Re: Door cards help
I had same issue .. My New Drain Tubes are thicker in o/dia; than OE ..and in my opinion the Newton cardboard backing is also thicker / bigger than OE hence why the front corner trim does not fit .. so my solution was to peel back some of the Brocade Material & reduced the overall size of the Newton trim backing card that jams into the void as my solution to get the corner trim to fit .. my fix did work ..

Re: Door cards help
Well, trimming the top tab of the hinge fillet has worked well, I left the excess vinyl and folded it as it filled the gap better.
I have done exactly as per the passengers door, any ideas? The door card sits between the drain tube and the spacer and is set at each end correctly. Any ideas?
TIA
Come to do the drivers door and I have a saggy door card

Re: Door cards help
Had same issue.. seem to remember that i packed under the lower edge of the Door Card to provide some support & lift to the Door Card using some "dense foam type material" that does not absorb any dampness along with a good dose of Bilt-Hamber clearwax.

Re: Door cards help
Thanks, I will have a play around, it just does not want to 'click' into the curve of the door panel, the door card is in just has a middle age droop!
