Part number needed please

Post by roymck »

Trying to find the part number for a nipple that goes in place of the by-pass hose fitting on the cylinder head under the t/stat housing . This is to convert a head to a non by pass hose style head. Definitely was a BMC part but can’t find it.

Beware that the part being sold by some vendors under that part number is actually an 18tpi plug intended for blanking off the inlet manifold servo.

It will screw into the 16tpi BSW of the head, but will bind before you get it completely flush.

If you end up with one of those, it will work but best not to overdo it when tightening - and use some thread sealant to be on the safe side.
