Re: refurbishing spark plug caps
Hello,
I did some of my caps this way.
Wash with prepsol and toothbrush.
Paint in Champion with an Artline 444XF Paint marker with a 0.8 mm tip and let dry.
Mask around the raised section of the cap end.
Spray some light coats of clear over the writing.
A desk mounted magnifying glass and a steady hand helps.
Glen

You can also use a rag or brush to apply paint into the letters, and while it is wet, use a tightly bunched rag to wipe the excess off the surface, when it is part-dry.
-And then use another bit of tightly bunched rag wetted with a small amount of thinner to clean any paint remnants off the surface.
By tightly bunching/wrapping the rag, it doesn't get into the letters, so leaves the paint there.
This also works for the gear-pattern in gear-knobs
It can take a bit of experimenting with the timing, for how long to leave the paint.
-And with a bit of practice you may not need the thinners....

Trouble with them is that the letters are raised, though only very slightly.
Best technique I found was to paint them as neatly as possible with a small brush and use an old Stanley knife blade to remove the excess from around/inside them.
