Sectioning door frame

Afternoon all we need to take a section out of the door frame I was wondering what’s the maximum you can add or take away with out causing problems

Id say you can add or remove about 5mm, but you could put the glass and seal in place to check its still ok .

Thanks nick this passenger door is kicking my behind took 5 mm our liked we said finalised the door skin and now needs 5 mm adding to the other end
