Hi Guys,
There is a drilled hole on the frame of the boot lid on my mk1.
It is just to the left upper of the left hinge holes.
You can see it in this pic.
What is it there for? Thanks.

It's been 30 odd years since i've stripped it and my memory ain't the same lol.
So there should be NOT be 3 holes behind the number plate light, drilled through the boot skin then,? as it all fixed to the number plate plinth/carrier?

The larger center hole is where the wires exit for the light and the smaller
two outside holes are for the rubber bumpers for the hinged plate.

I've only ever known the car with the number plate light bolted straight on to the boot lid.

Doe's anyone know what badge/badges would have fitted into the four holes (2 welded at some point) on the above boot lid.
