I'm after knowing the inside diameter of the brass restrictors in the main bearing saddles where the oil feed is drilled to the cam bearings.
The restrictors didn't survive the block dipping and I wanted them out anyway. I Have tapped the block for grub screws but need to know the what diameter for the restriction.
Cheers in advance.

There is only one restrictor on the centre main on my S blocks, the ID is 2mm.

Thanks for the reply. Maybe I didn't need to tap out the front one, it's going back a while. I know that it's the one that feeds the head also.

Re: Cam Bearing Oil feed Restrictors
Is there an easy method to remove the restrictor - or is it just a case of drilling it out?
It has a slight taper on it, by the looks of the replacement.
I’m cleaning up an S block that’s been sitting for 30+ years, and while I’m in there fitting new cam bearings I figured I’d pull the restrictor out to clean out any crud stuck behind it.

Is the restrictor something you can buy, or does it have to be made specially ?

Re: Cam Bearing Oil feed Restrictors
I was fitting new cam bearings so I had a mind to pull the restrictor out and clean behind it. In particular the front cam bearing was completely blocked with gunge (see photo) so I wanted to make sure all the others were clean.
But I couldn't get it out, and with the cam bearing removed it was fairly easy to cut a q-tip in half to clean it from the center cam bearing side instead of from the main bearing side.
