Schoolboy error ! Ive just got the engine back in and noticed the breather pipe out of the rear inspection covers is facing downward.
Q. The rocker cover breathes into the air filter. The breather at the back goes nowhere. Can i just attach a vent valve breather filter to this and leave it pointing downward or have i to have the pipe facing upward to stop possible fluids leaking out ? Hope this makes sense ?

that is how they are, my 1962 just has a steel pipe from the cover pointing downwards, then there is a rubber pipe from rocker cover to airbox
