For my next question - heater duct clips??
Anyone any idea who does these, if at all as I have searched the usual suspects?
Luckily I have the ones off this car but now realise they are missing off our SDL ;-(

Glad to see the clips are available. Anyone know where to get the original style paper heater ducts?

Are yours the wire wound style....if so, they are Morris Minor hoses...mini was just ribbed carboard....I may be wrong....but haven't seen your style on an early mini.
Cheers

The ones in the ebay listing are certainly standard cardboard heater tubes as fitted to UK built cars.

Andy, are you after original type hose?AndyPen wrote:Hi Gary, unfortunately these are different from my originals - check out the surface ribs.
I was not too bothered about originality and have used caravan PVC flexible waste pipe on my Elf. Just a thought for you

I'd be happy to have them and will pm you - but I remain confused as the ones sold on eBay look like the ones previously described on here as the export type?DUF2 ‘65 Elf wrote:Andy, are you after original type hose?AndyPen wrote:Hi Gary, unfortunately these are different from my originals - check out the surface ribs.

Parnell's book shows the same as mine on the fresh air heater and I popped over to my unmolested 64 to check that one - pic enclosed. This car has never been apart.
I have previously posted our 64 970 SDL on here, and same hoses again?
Did they use both types perhaps?

The one above is a Morris, and this is SDL with a 970 engine - an 64 austin.
As you can see, same pipes... but if the others are export, they will be correct for Gary anyway... sorry if I confused things mate.

Well actually my car is not an "export" car. It was purchased new at Imperial Motors in Bournemouth back in 1964...AndyPen wrote:The one above is a Morris, and this is SDL with a 970 engine - an 64 austin.

I have been looking for "original" demister pipes for a long time so if these are close I will be satisfied.
A picture of one of my original pipes from my 64 S is shown below. My originals are identical to yours so you are correct!

Thanks, I was beginning to wonder if I was cracking up
Dermot mentioned Morris Minors so I wonder if it can be sourced via one of their specialist suppliers - all for the future of course.
When you get them please do share a few pictures close up and from what we have heard on this thread, they may well be a perfectly valid and genuine substitute

As I have said at least twice before. Nearly every part of a Mini had at least 2 Suppliers. This was to try & ensure continuity of supply during strikes etc.
