Hi,
The plate where the trumpet attached to the rubber cone on my car came off. My Cones are still in good condition so I dont want to junk it. Can I just use a Rubber to Metal Glue and reattach the plate?

This should be OK. It's all in compression so shouldn't cause an issue.
Personally, I'd bite the bullet & replace it though.

Re: Mounting Plate from Rubber Cone Detached
Hi,
Thanks for the replies. Getting stuff down to my country is bit expensive wt tax. The cones are less than 3 years old and car is not a daily driver so the doughnuts are in fairly good shape. Seems a waste to bin them. I am also told that the locally fabricated HiLo I have is the cause of the problem so have to get new ones down.
Have you guys seen this happen before. How was the plate fitted to the Rubber in factory? Looks like some adhesive as well? Or was it moulded on? doesnt look like the edges of rubber covers the lip of the plate so I am encouraged to believe it would have been stuck together by some adhesive?

Re: Mounting Plate from Rubber Cone Detached
They were moulded in a single lump in the factory.
There are a few "dubious" once that have been made over the years.
I suspect you are in SA, in which case I can appreciate your issues with getting new parts from the UK. Everything is very expensive!
Glue it back together & give it a try. You really don't have anything to loose.
