Re: HUBS
They will only fit 8.4" Discs. You might get lucky with the odd set of 7.5" Discs (1275). They can be modified though to suit any.pcc911 wrote:Hi from France

I thought the BTA hubs had the outside diameter reduced to clear the disc to hub bolts and the extra material in the disc/hub for this, so they have a step on them.
The S dics are secured outboard of the hub on the same PCD as the wheel studs, same as the 997 and 998 discs.
So an S 7 1/2" or Cooper 7" will fit on any hub but an 8.4" disc will only fit on the BTA hub without the hub locking up.
I have a set of BTA hubs on my car and they have S discs/calipers over the top of them and they clear fine and I did no modification to them at all.
They are if I recall correctly, machined down the whole outside diameter, which the set of 1960's S hubs I have are not.

Re: HUBS
The later hubs are fatter on the nose, which with 8.4" discs isn't a problem as they have much more clearance as the inside of the bell can be bigger diameter. Some (most?) newer 7.5" discs are now made to give sufficient clearance too and will work. 'Proper' S hubs have a step machined into the nose of the hub, whereas the later ones only have a 45 degree chamfer.

Re: HUBS
Apologies here.
The BTA 186 and 187 are Cooper and Cooper S Hubs. They'll work fine.
I was getting them mixed up with the late hubs, which have a correct part number of FAM 2390 and 2391, which are often incorrectly listed under the earlier numbers. These are hit and miss on 7.5" Brakes but can be modified.
