Cable connection to solenoid should have rubber boots fitted. Similar to these.

Be careful with that electric wrench.

Its easy to overtorque the brass nuts & studs.

Just to confirm, here is my wet 64 that is about as original a car as I know of. Not the greatest of pics but hopefully you can see that Bob's pic is accurate?

Note the huge ball of tape on the solenoid, immediately obvious when I puled the fresh air pipe back - where it had rubbed quite a bit with the solenoid at this angle.

Thanks for the picture. I have no doubt that Bob's picture is accurate as usual! I technically would need to make my cable slightly longer in order to duplicate it exactly.
