Floor pan Jack damage
The footwells on my 30 have been pushed up by jacking. Considering it was only three years old when I got it with dealer service history and low miles it was surprising to see. It's not in the middle of the well, more to the outer corner where it's stiffer. I don't particularly want to beat it with a hammer, although I'm tempted. Should I try jacking against the dash cross member ?. I could just leave it, afterall it's been like this for 28 years. Floor is solid with no corrosion.

I would not apply any load to the dash cross member, it is not very strong at all.
On the Aussie cars the ends have a 2mm thick stiffener welded to the rail and the A post, about 100mm long.

On our 64 rally car one of the worst areas of corrosion was where we had straightened it in the exact same spot following an 'off'. The other side has hardly rusted at all by comparison - So I agree with leave it alone
