Hello together,
Some time ago I made, what I believed at the time, a great find -> a set of BRM wheels in good condition. Talking to Nick Rogers at one of the last Blyton events, I had to learn that there is a Spanish copy around, too.
Please find below some pictures of the wheels. Is it possible to distinguish whether these are genuine wheels or copies? My guess is 'ES' does not stand von Made in the UK and the weight is a bit heavy, too.
Many thanks in advance and best regards
Fabio

They are one & the same. All the Speedwell / BRM wheels were cast in Spain.

Re: Genuine BRM wheels or Spanish copy
Hello Mark,
That is great news! Thanks a lot.
Nevertheless I am quite suprised, as they are actualy rather heavy compared to period rivals:
JA Pierce 5x10
Cosmic RW10S
Cosmic MKI
Anyway that news made my day

The Speedwell 10" wheels were never made in Magnesium & were always quite heavy when compared to the competition.

I think the only wheels they made in magnesium were for the VW beetles?

Re: Genuine BRM wheels or Spanish copy
Minilites were indeed ONLY available in magnesium in the 60's.
The thread is about wheels made by Speedwell, Proij said,
"I think the only wheels they made in magnesium were for the VW beetles?"
This is indeed correct.
