Rear quarter piano window dismantle

Post by AndyB72 »

Any tips on how to separate the frame from the glass so I can either swop the frames over or send them for chroming. Do I just go in with force or is there something to soften the rubber first?

Use a hot air gun to heat up the rubber and soften it

I found that the frames just slipped apart after soaking the rubber in White spirit. The seal will undoubtedly need replacing anyway - fitting the new rubber can however be a right faff so be prepared...
