Typical - clutch master cylinder leak, just before a event!!
Just spotted a slight weep down the back of the clutch pedal. The smallest amount. I'm off the Oulton Park on Sunday and Monday for the Rally stage.
So do I:
- live with it as it's only a tiny weep and buy a new one next week?
- Dash up to Minisport and buy one and fit it tomorrow (they have the tin ones in stock)?
Never had a issue with one of these before and not sure if they weep for a bit before finally giving up or can go bad any second. If it were brakes its would be a no brainer swap out.

I'd take a bottle of fluid and check it mine on the van was like that for 2 months and didn't lose much fluid and the clevis pin is one of my least favourite jobs until I made a tool out of bent tin.
Brakes I'm with you single line system and a pedal on the floor isn't funny, its a focusing moment

Yeh, what a sod of a job doing a clevis pin and split pin. Need to be Houdini or something. Definately not for an old pensioner! Would love to see your clever 'bent tin tool' for doing the job coop12g295.

Yes not the "best" job, on a Min
But if you take the drivers seat out, is it not "too bad" to get to
And then replace the split pin, with a "hairpin" type, when you are done.
This will make it much easier next time.

If you keep the "leaking" master cylender in for the trip ?mk1rally wrote:

then make shure to wrap a piece of cloth, around the pedal,
as brake fluid, is VERY harmfull, to anything it gets in touch with

If its this silicone type, I dont think you need to worry? (too much?) any one ??

I'd change it or you'll worry about it all the time.

One thing a mate does to make the spit pin easier to remove if you ever have to. Is get rid of the split pin and replace it with R clip. There easier to put in as well. He also puts a zip tie through the R clip so you can pull the zip tie to pull the r clip out if you ever need to. He built his car as a street racer so anything to make things easier and quick especially the fiddly jobs he did.
Not much help about the leaking fluid but maybe something you may want to do.

Probably too late now as you're out tomorrow, but I woulddn't do either of your suggestions!
I would remove the cylinder, fit a new seal kit and put it back on. Job done.
If the bore is badly worn then the leak may re-appear but it will take good time, at which point you know it is worth paying for a new master.

Well I picked up a new one and carried the easybleed and some fluid in the car (synthetic) and believe it or not, it's stopped leaking and was fine all weekend.
And I did give ita pasteing too!! I'll be changing it out this week and re-sealing the old one and have it as a ready spare. Good tip on the R clip, I actually put one in the last time I changed it and it's been fine.
Thanks for all the tips chap's, very much appreciated.
