Hi! You will develop a higher hydraulic pressure for a given pedal pressure, but you will lose wheel cylinder travel!

The 998 Cooper had .625" bore master cylinder, which is about right for your 16mm measurement. It was Unipart GMC105 or AP/Lockheed 4222-921.

Repair kit was Rover 18G8157 and AP/Lockheed SSB795 and later LK11240, but please confirm the last number with your supplier before ordering.
