Well...................Not really progress to report but I finally had enough of the Paint shop "promises" So after being told it would be complete Today I was not surprised to hear from them this morning saying "Well we got the wheel arches painted".............
So off I went with the trailer and bought it back to the shop, at least now I can fit the subframes, fuel tanks and stuff to free up some shop space which I desperately need!
I'll worry about the exterior paint at a later date.
All my nice painted and coated parts will now need a good clean before I put it back together having sat on open shelves in the shop for a year they look like crap!

Thanks Nick appreciate that! I may well do that but at the moment I think I'll just do some assembly work as I can, you know how it is trying to find time to play with your own toys!!

Work on a car for myself, at this point I have almost forgot what my cars look like. Hard to get motivated to work on a mini for myself, when I work on minis all day long.

Some actual progress to report! I took a day off customer work and spent a productive day getting stuff off the shelf and fitted to the car, fitted the brake line and battery cable from the floor switch ( I found an NOS one in Malaysia!) and then fitted the Pre-built rear sub frame. In my excitement I forgot the fuel line........ but I can finagle that in later. Since the frame is now fitted I went on to the fuel tanks, left tank no problem at all but the aftermarket right tank fits like shit! the neck is too long and at the wrong angle so a bit of welding and adjustment will be needed but at least the hole i drilled is in the right place. Pedal box, steering rack and column next no problems their followed by the wiring loom. Yes I know the control box is upside down but the wires are too short to fit correctly? I'll have to take a another look at it, I think the loom should go down under the control box perhaps? Then just bit's and pieces as I found them on the shelf. Anyway here's a few Pic's to be going on with..........

Ah I've sussed it. The loom is from a Cooper S so the regulator should be up in the corner where the fuse box is fitted? so I'll have to move it.

Well this will be the last update for a while, my girlfriend was diagnosed with cancer and I think I'm going to be a little pre-occupied for a while so I'm going to put the mini on hold until we get sorted out..................

Sorry to hear about the bad news, my wishes past over and all the best.

If it's any consolation the Mini is going to look excellent, colour has always been one of my personal fav's! Wish we didn't get salt on our roads over here....
