Subframe / engine refurbishing

Post by peppp »

Bare with me guys (and with my terrible English skills), please.

Some years ago, while I had offroading as a hobby, I was driving a modified Discovery with a 300 TDI engine. Back then I was able to find a supplier in the UK who refurbished my front axle and diff, and my engine as well.

To my surprise, even with shipping costs from Portugal, it was less expensive to do it in the UK, and the expertise/quality was top of the line, which would be difficult to find in Portugal for older technology.

Are there similar services that I could use for my 998cc engine and subframes ?

Thanks in advance !

I suppose many of the big firms (or indeed some smaller ones) would take this on, I'm thinking along the lines of Minisport, MED, Somerford and probably others that I can't think of right now. But I'd be surprised if there isn't a local option that's more cost efficient.
