I didn't make it in the end, ended up at Oulton instead, another good finish though Tim ! What happened with Andy Jones' Imp, he must have been in with a shout of an overall win there ?

The Imp (Singer Chamois - sorry) was amazing. He'd allegedley lost 40 kilos somehow over the winter. Had a 10 second lead when it went onto three

surfblue63 - Many Thanks for the great photos. Tim said you were a talented photographer, and he isn't wrong!

Great to meet you, sorry the car broke in the 2nd race. Especially as I had a great start for a change!

Oh well. I will be missing the next two races, but have pencil'd in Brands, maybe with my new car, or give the Fletcher a run out? See how we get on.

I would like to get to grips with the Broadspeed Mini. It has been a bit of a pain over the years. Oh well thats motor racing i suppose.

At least you got to finish a practice session and a race in one weekend

My next HSCC event will probably be the Croft Nostalgia in August, a certain Mr Godfrey won the Saturday race last year, the Newcastle and Durham MCR are hoping for a repeat performance from the Minis this year.

Sorry for delay

What actually happened was that I got my nose chopped off at the start by a Lotus Cortina which slowed me and caused me to get squashed by an Imp (I have now learnt why Minis have small rubbing devices on the doors)was having a cracking race with the BMW's when I got one back wheel on the grass at the bottom of the Gooseneck which spun me round

I then seemed to have a puncture. But herein lies a question to all: It looks like I pulled the tyre off the rim which caused it to go down; there wasn't any evidence of a puncture before.

Does this occur often? I now gather that our rallying brothers put tubes in to stop this happening. Any ideas anyone?

My Racing chum Mr Graveturner Stanworth on the left introduced me to the old duffer (on the right) who I had a nice chat to about what he's doing with racing teams and testing developments that he's involved with at the moment. Very impressive considering his age and has given me hope that there is still hope of moving forwards late in life. Somehow I never talked to him about the past; I wonder whether I missed something? His name sounded familair but I couldn't place it somehow. Jeff Goodliff .

Just answered my own question.

Before, I couldnt see any object in the tyre that went down . We just blew it up and there is a gash in it that was invisible before

I try to visit only the best quality gravel traps , but obvoiusly this was not one of them that I went through
