Plumbing lines

I had a go today installing the plumbing, not being able to see any pictures I sort of ended up with this which I'm not too happy with, the hydro pipes are nos so they go where they go no questions,brake pipe and fuel pipes I installed and these were governed by the hydro pipes so I think they should be OK as I would guess that they should not cross the hydro pipesor they would rub, but how should the battery lead route? Looking good . Gray i may be wrong but i think on a mk2s the battery cable does not run behind the subframe , but i may stand corrected . See the mini cooper site i have posted a pic on there showing the underside on my mk2 cooper

Cheers Ian, I will look into that it could explain it, I would of thought a mk1s should be the same as a mk2s.

Hi Gray

Have you pressurized and tested the lines - i was on the verge of fitting a used but mint set yesterday, ran them up in the jig and both leaked, no obvious damage to the line....yours being NOS i am sure they are fine, but it is a hell of hassle to replumb once everything else is in.

i have a mk11 hydro and battery cable runs behind the subframe. i wish mine looked that good.

I think you're right. I'm sure the battery cable on the Mk2 was outside the front beam of the subframe and clipped to the bottom flange with a P-clip.

I nipped to the Malvern Show today and got some funny looks going around on my knees looking as this, mk2's seem to mostly seem to be outside the frame, mk1's were 50/50 so it would seem it is one of those things which people have done to suit when working on a car.

No mini has the battery cable between the subframe and the bodywork. It is fixed to the subframe with P clips. Or you could just tie rap it.
