Motalita Horn Push

Post by sclemow »

Does anyone have information on what mechanical bits I need to get a motalita horn push installed and working?

I have a motalita boss with a hole in the side - and a motalita push centre, presumably the column centre with the spring on is ground. How does the 12v connect to the horn push?

Cheers

Horn is live ( battery ) the return off the horn connects to the horn push and when you make the earth connection  . Hey presto

Sorted it out to some extent last night. The horn is live as you say Ronnie, but it is the steering wheel end that I am trying to sort.

The spring connection in the centre of the column is 12v via the split ring.

The motalita centre connects to the spring connector by abutment and earths through the column when the centre is pushed.

The problem is that it doesn't seem to physically fit in place. It's as if the spring is too long.

Sometimes it is a faff to get these working just right, you often have to shorten (or lengthen) the spring to make the feel of the horn acceptable. As many bosses are slightly different & all columns are the same there is bound to be a bit of fitting needed.

Just a case of persevering I'm afraid.

No problem, I was a bit reluictant to shorten the spring from standard as it then means I have to use the motalita, looks like I'll have to though.

On a slightly different note, is there a particular horn and bracket that fits physically with an oil cooler and larger (non servo) air pipe?
