64 mini van magic wand box?

Any one sugest prob cause and repair to stop gear leaver rattling and intermitant prob selecting 1st and 3rd gears feels like the leaver is against some thing quite solid not just clutch not clearing gears! Prob in the linkage any tips? Got to drive to the imm in June! Got to brooklands and back to Leicester and it only did it once in near on 300 miles!

The reluctance to get in gear could be adjustment but I would say unlikely having experienced a similar situation on my fully rebuilt gearbox. It was the clearance/endfloat on the Primary gear (bronze bush fitted inside). When selecting gears I found that it felt like I was pushing between the gate rather than at the gate more often than not. I could select first with the right technique. However it caught up with me when I selected 3rd on the way back from a rolling road and it stayed there. I couldn't delselect 3rd after that. Not a horrendous job and parts inexpensive. Would definitely replace with a Minispares fully floating bush though. Cheers. Mark
