Fuel starvation on RH corners, 28/36 DCD Weber
Going to have a play round with float level height's tonight, but anyone here had same problem
Using a Derrington inlet manifold.

Could you somehow baffle the float chamber? looking for my Weber book now but if I remember correctly, DCD stuff is a bit thin on the ground. The DGV is it's progression, I wonder if it's the same in these situaitions?
Re: Fuel starvation on RH corners, 28/36 DCD Weber
The DGV is a normal twin choke carb, both chokes open simultaneously. Unlike the DCD which is a progressive twin choke carb, with these the primary choke opens upto two thirds throttle and then the secondary choke starts to opens.mk1rally wrote:The DGV is it's progression

If this is a twin choke downdraft weber like i had on my old mk2 then yes i had the same problem. It used to un-nerve me when cornering hard. The new owner is a member of thisforum and i think he has now changed to twin su's and the car performs much better i beleive he may add some more info if he reads this regards Steve

I think it depends on the manifold, coz I never had any problems with mine in corners. Not familiar with the Derrington manifold, does this manifold place the carb at right angles to the bores ?
My manifold has the chokes parallel to the bores, also note that the float chamber should be in front of the chokes with this type of manifold. So under acceleration the any surge causes the fuel to flow towards said chokes.
Good for 89 bananas and easily outperforms the HIF44.

Oh yes same problem when autotesting years ago engine would cut out when handbraking and reverse spin flicks, sell it and buy a side draught of some kind.
