The right moment to remember that the car originally OEW was painted in a very similar color when it was raced in the US.
The little plastic thing will stay so as a memory.

Thank you Foxy52. I have been quite obsessed with this var over the last years. I am trying my best to realise a good replica with my own and poor technical skills.

I am an orthopaedic surgeon. Working on metal is very different from what I am used too.
On some weldings I had to redo the job a few times until I was happy with the result... and that is very pleasant to have more than one shot and to know that it's only my own blood on the floor...

Looking great Philippe, a couple of points of interest, when the guy did the gold leaf on the arden painted it on with yellow first, just as it was going off he applied the gold leaf and then gently stroked the "over hang" off with a fine soft brush, this way it didnt give that slightly translucent feel, he then carefully went over it with a clear to give it protection.
I also supplied pictures and details for the Arden model and was rewarded with 2 free models, I had to contact them every 6 months so I was not forgotten, it was 5 years ago !!!!! All good things take time.
I spoke to the owner of the car a couple of months ago and finally had some closure on the car, he told me he is over the moon with the car, I had had no feed back what so ever.

I am sure the owner is on the moon with the car. You did such an amazing work on that car.
I had to pay for the scale model, i bought 2. One for me and for my youngest boy, he is 2 and a half and only speaks about mini, nothing else. He is making my wife crazy.

My 6 years old boy helped me fitting the rear glass yesterday and it was astonishingly easy for a first try. I was so afraid to break the original screen.
The electrical harness is completely fitted, inclusive relocation of the fuse box and voltage stabilizer (a lucas one used on the jaguars), relocation of the horn and a few more lines to the fuel pumps. The var will stay positive earth.
The engine bay is ready. I will get the engine out and do the build as soon as i have a gearbox.

After fidling with different hoses, I decided to run vintage hoses, like the original TJ ones. I connected the hoses directly on the 2 copper hoses under the car. I uses the same technique and hoses in the front from the copper lines to the engine pump. The rest of the hoses are NOS black plastic tubes with an aluminium spindle isolator.
And it looks great.
I was not able to do a replica of the tank and I thought it would be easier to explain the added security in comparison to the original tank with a FIA approval. So I fitted a Swiftune tank. And I line the look of it. I recycled a battery cover to cover the little battery and leave enough room for the fuel pumps.
And I must say that is is quite busy in the boot.

I am happy the way it progress. I must admit that I did not try everything on before I sent the shell for painting. Because of the lack of time. I measured a lot and I am happy I was not that bad at planning.
The roof lining is in. At the moment with no courtesy light, out of place in a race car.

Dash is done with all the lines for the lights of the auxiliary gauges. Still working on the most practical way to get the brake lines to the remote servo and back. What do you think of the short hose that normally fit the brake caliper?
Fittid classic koni dampers in the front and Springs in the back.
Found a micro heater on ebay I could hide behind the lucas screenjet or under the wing.
And pumped the hydrolastic up without to much green shower...

I love that color...
And the gold lettering with the own name, just great.
Would love to hear the sound of the engine.
