The car is looking awesome. Having the engine in is always one of the most satisfying stages of the rebuilding process. Thanks for sharing your build progress!

Starting to work on the engine bay, I had to do a test to see how it looks with the engine in.
And Oh my God I love it!!!
Really nice! And quick progress too!

What was wrong with the rear arb? Could post a picture of how it is now?

The arb was pointing down like this. The blade should point upward, the connecting rod should point upwards too. Otherwise it could get in contact with the tire.

Don't get me wrong, the prodress isn't that quick. The engine is not built yet. I just fitted it in to scheck if i can close the bonnet!!! I modified the inlet I had, it was pointing downwards. And I have to retain the bonnet catch for immatriculation purpose.
I am taking my time for the rebuild, step by step. But it looks like I have still 2000 things to do.

I fitted the servo and the gauge pod, I still have to do the brake line to the servo. I will then be able to glue the vinyl on the dash and the carpet on the inner wings and underdash.

Thanks for your reply. Not sure it is room for that with the FiA appK arb from KAD though. Will have to try.

As I am blindly trusting Rich, I double-bent the blade so it works upwards. The clearance with the tires is clearly better.

I've had the blade downwards for years. It won't make any difference at all on tyre clearance.

Some progress. I fitted the dash vinyls and the carpets under the dash. The front carpet stays in at the moment as a protection

As Living in Switzerland means living in the cold, I decided to keep a heater in the car, mainly to be able to see through the windscreen. There is an empty space in the front of the engine bay where the heater matrix serves cooling on the original arden. I found it would be the ideal place to use this little period thing: the Lucas TAC.

Now it's getting serious. My friend is a classic signwriter and artist. He did the gold leaf today and it looks terrible. He did it the way it was done then, by hand.

That gold leaf looks fantastic. Any photos during the process?. I've seen videos on YouTube of it been done and it looks like magic is involved in the process!
