Not sure about the Austins Dave but presumably the Morris versions were either red, white or (clipper) blue?

The most well known Abingdon 850 rally cars were TMO559, TMO560 & TMO561, all were badged as Morris & had Morris grilles. (I think all Minis were Morris in 1959) To the best of my knowledge (& memory!) '559 was clipper blue, '560 was cherry red & '561 was old English white. There was a previous works car, TJB199 which was driven by John Sprinzel in the 1960 Tulip Rally, also a Morris, but I'm afraid I can't help with the colour of that one, except to say it would have been one of the 3 colours mentioned above.

Clipper blue, that works out nicely. Thanks Gents.

Anyone got any pictures of the inside of them?

Oh, Nial, do you still want those lamp brackets?

I love the early cars, very simple and full og character, red/white , 4 700's and a set of minilites while nice does get rather boring ;) :!:

Some cracking footage of the 850's here :D

My apologies, I'm guilty of making an assumption that TJB199 was in one of the standard colours of the period, never having seen a photo of it. That must have been one of the very first ever black Minis!
Mk1 Rally, I probably have got a photo of the interior of one of the 850's, I remember it was very basic, There was a Halda, various switches & a combined oil pressure/water temperature gauge, as fitted to MGB's & Midgets. I will gladly pass it on as soon as I can locate it, & I have to organise some image hosting.
