i was going through my spares and found i had a few twin inlet manifold which i did not think i had, but i am not sure what they are from, i know most will be mini but there maybe others from other cars
so it there a list on the internet of casting numbers so i can check them against. i have done a few searches but not come up with anything
thanks

Re: inlet manifold
For minis, there is this, on page 4 for twin SU separate inlet manifolds,

Re: inlet manifold
right here are the photos of the inlets i have, all have servo take offs, all 1" 1/4
these carbs were rebuilt by burlins, they are the carbs that mini world sent there and did an aritcal on last year, it says they put the right angle inlet for minis

i have 2 of these inlet ( i know its upside down but i cant be bothered to up load it the right way)

these ones i think are not mini, but its had the number ground off and a new one stampped on, like what i read in the links above

Re: inlet manifold
The 12g299 is a MG1100 manifold, if you measure the angle that the carbs sit at you will notice that that is 10 degrees. Manifold for minis sit at 30 degrees.
As mentioned in the thread I posted, the AEG573 is a Innocenti 1300 manifold.
And the 12G2463 is off a late MK2 or MK3 Cooper and S.
Often the manifold with the larger mounting surface are also used as Special Tuning manifold as they would allow HS4 carbs to be fitted.

Re: inlet manifold
so those carbs with the 1100 inlet, are the carbs i am going to be using on my car, so i have to change the inlet for the 12G2463.
thanks for you help, if i never knew that i would of just bolted them on,
dean

Re: inlet manifold
When those carbs got rebuilt they might have thought about the angle that the manifold sits at and thus change the rubbers in the floatbowls so they sit at the right angle.
If you look at the manifold from the side the mounting flange that sits against the head should be perfectly vertical, the floatbowls should be too. Check this just to make sure. If they are you can still try fitting them but you will probably have some trouble with the space they need.

Re: inlet manifold
If you have any with AEG 347 12A661 P on them, would you be willing to sell me one?

Re: inlet manifold
sorry i dont have one, but if i had a spare i would
right just bolted them to a head and the float bowls are not level, there is a orange and a purple angle spacer thing between the float bowl and the carb body i know that they also have to be the right angle as well

just held up the aeg 573 next to the 12g299 and it has more of an angle, like what masnarda said 30 degrees, so if i used that it looks like the float bowl would become level/flat sit plumb

Re: inlet manifold
Dean, the later produced rubbers that sit between the floatbowl and the body do have those colours. Originally they would have been black. However the colour on these new ones indicate the angle which they sit at. The ones on your carbs are the right ones for a mini. Looks like it's just down to changing the manifold.

Re: inlet manifold
well thats a releif, that its only down to a manifold change. very strainge that in the write up mini world did, it says that burlin changed the inlet for one that will work on a mini, as i think these were not original from a mini, any how it all worked out fine in the end and lucky i have a inlet that will fit.
thanks for everyones help, and quick replys, i have learnt things which i will pass on if anyone has the same type of question.
thanks dean
