Basil Wales had some of these made about 10 years ago, not sure if anyone else had done this recently.

He He!

You're right Austin, I'm fairly sure 'Special Tuning' was at it's most profitable when Basil was at the helm! ;)

I too got a jacket and if I recall correctly, I think that 'Jaybrand' the motorports clothing company made them for him? Does Jaybrand even exist anymore?

Good quality though, and a really faithfull reproduction of the originals, I compared mine to Willie Caves original 60's one!

Does it look a bit like this? A Dealer Opel Team one, but no doubt the same style. The tache is optional if you want to wear one. The great Tony Pond,

He certainly wasn't behind the door when it came to marketting his XWAST regalia, quite a cottage industry, many with MCR labels on ! Taxi for Mr Wales !

Was also talked to Basil about these jackets for length of time last year, down to taking size and deposit. But then, he said the production can't proceed due to licencing problem with the use of Dunlop logo?

Still very interested. Mark, can you count me in if you can get it going? We may have a few orders here in HK.
I know the Japanese also made there own version with BMC logo, very nice indeed!

That last image is very Les Leston, but at the same time it doesn't look quite right. I suspect from this image that its a 70 jacket that's had a BMC rosette sewn to it.
