Croft Nostalgia Weekend/HSCC Race meet Croft 6/7th Aug
A quick heads up about this event taking place this weekend.
It's always an excellent doo with tons of on and off track activity, lots of different classes of historic racing, big display of classic cars, bikes and army machinery.
There are half a dozen minis amongst the entry for the HSCC/HRSR ByBox Historic Touring Car Championship too http://www.hscc.org.uk/images/Provision ... t_2016.pdf
The MCR will have its' usual stand midway between the paddock and the track opposite scrutineering where it'll no doubt be joined by most of the other minis attending, making for a sizeable display that always attracts a lot of interest.
Get across to the event if you can folks
Niall.

We are there with the Envoy Ford Formula Junior this year but you will probably find me lurking around some Mini's somewhere....

That must have been the hottest (and driest) Saturday at Croft on record.
The touring car race was a high rate of attrition and was eventually red flagged after an Imp did an Exxon Valdez, causing a few cars to head for the grass. Only one of the Minis managed to finish, the bright blue car of Jimmy Sime. Hopefully some will be able to get some repairs done over night, or the grid will be a bit sparse.
Here's a few of the off track attractions
Is this the last Riley Elf to be registered?
2-Door Supersports Coupe
VITA Capri
I bet those hub caps are rare

Another days action tomorrow and more pictures to follow during the week.

I went to harewood house to the RREC northern rally.
fell asleep on a tartan rug in front of my dads car and woke up about an hour later to discover about 20 Chinese people taking photos of either the car or me, I'm not quite sure. they where all pissing themselves laughing at me, either way
needless to say, I now have a RIGHTEOUS sunburn.

We gave him the heads up on a manoeuvre another competitor might try and sure enough he did but to no avail this timerich@minispares.com wrote:

Sunday, Lap 2, enter first corner too fast trying to out brake rival, car suffers lift off over steer, cue gravel spray demonstration as car spins out.

Roger Godfrey wasn't the only one to find himself pointing the wrong way, Neil Wood also had a spin after a fast charging Warren Briggs took his line into the first corner

If you watch Race 2 Bullen pulled exactly the same move on the Cortina and there was no collision because the Tina looked in his mirror so sensibly didn't go for the apex. I'd say he shouldn't have turned in on Bullen in Race 1! That Race 2 scrap was a corker, but I don't think Bullen's averse to a bit of rubbing it's fair to say. Not fun if you've got a nice car!
