Template Remote gear lever hole
Finally made a decision and got a SC / CR Remote box for my 1960 Hillclimb Track Car, Has anyone got a template for cutting the hole for a remote on a 1960 shell ?

Re: Template Remote gear lever hole
Could you not assemble the extension it without the lever and mark
the centre of where the hole needs to be from under the car.
Still from under the car, drill this through, say 1/8".
Now, from inside the car, use the gaiter retaining piece as a
template, centralise this round the drilled hole, then just scribe
around the inside?

Your welcome to pop round to our place (Cartmel way) and make a template if you like?
I've got a 69 Mini with a 1046, Cooper Head and a four on the floor.

I could do with one also. Modifying a 1963 to take a remote. I hate 'magic wands'.
They might be called 'direct shifters' but in my experience they are nearly as crap to use as the push pull shifter of Citroens and Renaults...

Re: Template Remote gear lever hole
All dimensions are in mm
The measurements taken are taken from centres of bolt holes which are steering rack mounts and lower subby mounts
There are some dimensions on there which are not exactly needed but more for cross reference .
The rads in corners are approx 1" or 2" if you prefer the dia.
My shell is pretty untainted so would like to think it is correct if there are any anomilies then both my shell and my mates 61 are both wrong
Hope it makes sense , please ask if you need any other info
