Inlet manifold help

Post by coopertim »

Evening all

Im trying to fit the twin carbs to my 12A185 head but my 12A661 inlet manifold takes locating rings and these will not fit into the head. Any ideas on which manifold part number i need please? Struggling at the moment and would like to pick one up from Beaulieu if i can.

Cheers Tim

you can still use the 661 manifold Tim by lining it up by feel with carbs off. You'll still have the groove in the inlet tracts where the ring seats but otherwise will be fine.
other wise the early 997 manifold with stud ears will be the one assuming you have no vacuum port needs.

Tim, I believe I still have a 12A309 manifold in the van which is packed ready for Beaulieu. I would swap it for your 661 if you're interested.
