Would someone please explain why there are the two holes in the center of the rear parcel shelf ? Was it for radio speaker ?

I don't know if it WAS for a speaker, but I know that many speakers were fitted there.

and the 4 studs on these speaker grilles fir the 4 smaller holes perfectly
