Does anyone have any advice regards fitting full windscreen surround panel on a mk2 mini, can't find a nos one so may have to go heritage, main concerns are how much modification is needed to the panel and if it comes with internal roof channel is this same as original.
Thanks

Re: Windscreen panel
Hi Daz , i have an original one and that comes with the inner cant rails , the mods that need doing are welding up the extra wiper arm holes and cutting the drain slits in the front gutter .
I don't think a heritage comes with the inner cant rail , but i may be wrong
Have you tried our friend in Spain . that where i got my panel from

Re: Windscreen panel
Thanks, I sent a message on eBay but had no reply so can only presume he doesn't have one. I think full panel is my best option as its gone at top corner and for how much more it is over lower scuttle probably not worth hassle of trying to repair. If you have an email for the Spanish seller I will try that
Think the gutter changes will be hardest part
Thanks

Re: Windscreen panel
The gutter is fine on the car so may be easier to cut section with slits and weld to new panel. What is best way to remove panel from roof was thinking careful grinding from underside to leave just root panel.

Re: Windscreen panel
I have had no reply from Spanish eBay seller so have reserved one at mini spares, should be ok will just need to alter guttering, anyone know if inner rail is same or will I need to keep the one off my car.
Seemed pointless buying the lower panel when I needed repairs at top corner and also needed one of the inner upper a panel closers replacing due to rust. The price difference with lower scuttle repair makes it an easy choice.

Re: Windscreen panel
I did it on my mk1 with a heritage panel. Weld up the wiper holes and i had to cut the gutter for the draining holes. It comes with the inner rail and fitted perfectly. I was very surprised and happy with it. I would do the roof first if i had to do it again.
