Drip rail/gutter join
Was there ever any sealant applied to this join from new? Or was it just spotwelded along its length? Cheers

There was a sealant between the two on the outer (visible) side of the joint to prevent water getting between them - probably the same stuff as around the wing joints etc.

I agree with OEW, I have definitely picked a sort of white mastic out of this joint.

Hello!
3M Drip Check sealer was used between front wing/scuttle and outside on the drip rail to prevent water from entering as said by M.F

That's what I thought. I too remember picking it out of the join but wondered if it had been added later. Seems the 3M stuff is the way to go. Cheers all.mk1 wrote:I agree with OEW, I have definitely picked a sort of white mastic out of this joint.
