Mk1 Battery Cover Strap

I believe Mk1's had a 3/4" white rubber batter cover strap. Is it known when the change to black rubber took place?

Does anyone know, where to find mk1 battery strap repro?

My august '70 mk3 had the wide white strap, as did my '79 belguim import.

My mate found a original / unrestored Mini 1000. It was built in week 40 - 1973, and it also had the White strap.

My 1974 "M Reg" Mini 1000 had a white battery strap.

The strap is made of stuff called Pirelli Webbing, this is still available.

Thanks all for your response. Last night I had a visit from James ( KA2S4) and he has some Pirelli webbing. It seems like my problem is solved.
