What are the opinions on making a 'long range' fuel tank out of the 5.5 gallon tank?
As shown on some of the pictures on the be main site? Obviously it needs to be done well.
Just an idea I have been toying with, but thought some more experienced folks could give an opinion or idea.

A friend of mine runs a fabrication company and makes a lot of bespoke alloy items for motorsport. He recently made a pair of Mini fuel tanks with recesses for fuel pump and washer bottle, then made covers for them to give an OE appearance. He could easily knock up something similar to your photo.
