vacuum advance thread size

Post by Andrew1967 »

Does anyone know what the thread is for the adjustment end of the vacuum advance on a 25D distributor ?

Thought it was 10/32 UNF but running the knurled nut down a tap of that size does not inspire me with confidence that it is that size. :?

Thanks in advance :)

It's more likely to be a Whitworth/BSF size, so this might narrow things down a bit...

Thanks Ian,

I'll have a rummage about in Dad's old taps and dies to see if I can find anything :)

Lucas used some very odd threads.

I would be looking at either BS84 BSF, or possibly British Standard Cycle thread (BSC)

Whatever it is will NOT be straight forward.
