Historic footage of 1970 World Cup Rally
Historic and unique footage of the London to Mexico World Cup Rally which Colin Taylor produced for Duckhams Oils.

I was at Wembley Stadium for the start. The only thing I remember is the site of the Rolls Royce Silver Shadow with the exhausts going over the roof. I remember getting home and immediately modifying my Matchbox one with some rolled up plasticine.

Whatever the entrant wanted it to be. There were no effective eligibility regulations for the WCR beyond having 4 wheels.wolseley 1000 wrote:XJB 308H - what ist that at 16.07

I have seen this before but this is a clearer version. Abysmally unhelpful commentary early on. Interesting initial footage of the Hunters, including the Antiguan entered car. I know Jimmy Fuller, the only surviving member of the crew. Third man, works employee Bernard Unett, was a late substitution (and later became BTCC Champion). Entrant and driver Mike Tyrell later had an impressive F3 record against several future F1 stars and died in 2013 whilst serving 26 years for the 2000 Isle of Wight yacht cocaine bust.

How many of you out there remember the North Orbital road?

I certainly remember the North Circular Road (at all hours, living in Heston with a girlfriend in Palmers Green). Busy road at times even then but never gridlocked in my memory. Used by the RAC Rally in 1977 (in which I competed) from the Wembley start to Hangar Lane intersection and the A40 and on to the first stage at Blenheim.hanlminiman wrote:How many of you out there remember the North Orbital road?
