Crazy.
Do you think it's worth buying that new Paddy Hopkirk tat from mini Sport and putting it in the loft for 30 years?

Old school machining and fabrication I don't think is taught the same any more, I can remember not that long ago when I was doing my maintenance course at work, and whilst being taught to file correctly, I was told by my lecturer if he heard it squeaking, he would launch the piece of work out of the window!

its an early hrg one, but needs a bit of love

the missing cap, extra breather that's welded into it and the messing that it would need to make 'nice' again makes it worth about £50

I agree with Rich. Without a cap it is more or less worthless.

Good point Nick, but there is a market for the Mickleburghs "Downton" stuff & the "Speedwell" items produced by John Adair in the 1990's. Both of which are exactly the same as the Minisport Paddy Hopkirk stuff.

Ad says he's "had a lot of timewasters" from his previous ads. He means the people who pointed out that it WASN'T a Mk1 shell as he claimed and as the logbook said - Also that putting oversills on during a "full restoration" isn't generally recognised as the way forward ;)

im not sure whats going on with that shell - the bulkhead looks a real mess, later parcel shelf, early mk3 seat back, horrid sills etc.

why didn't he paint the whole thing red, the 'farmers choice' red epoxy primer floor and engine bay just looks terrible

it must be a really late mk2 shell

Best bits are on the bottom.
If you look closely there's still a lot of usable parts left on it.
