Does it tie in with the switch to quarter bumpers?

No I think the flat tail gate only lasted into '62, whereas the long rear bumper lasted til the late 60s.

Woodypup59,

You live and learn, I didn't even realize that early pickups had different tailgates, I don't have a heritage certificate yet but will get one and tell you the build date, it was registered at the end of September 62 if that's any help.

Its a cracking read, regarding the Colotti gate I love the look of it but wanted to keep it standard looking, I know a man who has one so if he ever sells I may reconsider fitting it but for the time being the magic wand seems fine, I'll update my experiences as i get used to the box.

Jens,

Well I'm limited to 3000 revs but safe to say " A nods as good as a wink to a blind bat" :-)

Me too...

I'd like to add this to the "Ratios" gearbox ratio spreadsheet
which is available here:

Any contributors can even have a name-check put into
the documentation if they want one!

This is the thread I started before I was pointed to this one

I've fitted a roll cage to the pickup

Check out my roll cage, not sure if its FIA approved but I did use locking nuts on the bars which may help.

I really like the look with the bars on, I have the cover but you can't drive with it on as you can't see a thing behind you.

Should be worth 3 seconds a lap at Blyton next year.
