I enjoyed a great day out with courtesy of Tim at Cadwell this weekend. Tim managed a double class victory, holding off an in form Peter Morgan and even managed to be the best of the tiddlers in qualifying and in race 1.
As usual I have a bunch of pictures, which will be uploaded later in the week, but in the meantime here is Tims on-board footage.

First up is practice, which sees various hold ups with slow moving stuff...

...then we have Race 1 in which Tim gets baulked on the start by a tyre smoke Mustang, but soon makes up lost ground...

...and finally Race 2 were Tim makes and early mistake, allowing the Imp of Simon Benoy through, and then spend the rest of the race hassling a Lotus Cortina with the hard charging Pete Morgan almost getting through after starting near the back of the grid.

I reckon Cadwell is the best Mini track in the country.

Like the one of me with the Triumph 2000 .

You have seen matching numbers cars .

We now bring you matching letters cars.....

I have a query for the technical.

I was in a quandry as to what carb to fit - Weber or SU's as I wanted to make sure it will pull best out of all the twisty corners. I was advised by someone very technical that the Weber would give better low-down grunt because of the pump jets. He advised that the SU's would be better for top-end power. I opted for the Weber but I do wonder

I wouldn't put myself in the 'very technical' box by any means, but my understanding was that it was the exact opposite to what you were told :?

Thanks for the comments guys.

As for catching those split second moments, it helps that I have a camera that shoots 6 frames per second. I think this was my fourth visit to Cadwell and I have just about worked out were the good angles are. Some circuits a more picture friendly to the spectator than others, Cadwell and Oulton are my favourites.

Tim, I hadn't noticed that reflection before. I bet I couldn't do that with a big zoom if I tried, but I might have a go next year.

I couldn't agree more. That was the first track I went out on, great memories.
I also put Knockhill in second place for a mini, very similar but shorter.

Webers every time.
(Twin) SUs are like pheasants and sheep.....they dedicate their entire lives to finding new ways to die!

Only seeing this now. All the cars I have run and Dyno tested I always see better low to mid torque from an SU as the variable venture allows much higher gas speeds off cam and in progression.

For all out power and high end torque a weber will always win as it has much better fuel atomisation at high speed and the chock just flow better. My 998 screamer had a big cam and always made 60 mph some 1.5's quicker with a weber then with the SU. But drove like a bucking noisy bronko around town where as with the SU was smooth as a kitten .

You have driven round Knockhill? Basically a truly horrible track.

Ivor, If I hadn't driven round Knockhill I wouldn't have said what I did ? Each to their own.

Possibly I put the punctuation in the wrong place. You obviously have driven round Knockhill and you still find it a good track. Second best in the country? Well I suppose in an independent Scotland. The best it can be said is that it is there and the only track available, which I suppose makes it like the Monty Python cheese shop.
