Front Rego Backing Plate

Post by mini63 »

Greetings,
can anyone confirm if export or CKD cars, specifically early MK1s had the 14A8455 type front backing plate fitted? I guess it was perhaps for the home market cars?
I never fitted one to my 997 and would like to find out.
Cheers Michael

I don't definitively know the answer, BUT that doesn't stop me from suggesting the following.

As a lot of export market number plates were "odd" sizes & shapes when compared to the UK item, I suspect it is most likely that in most cases any number plate backing would be locally produced.
